BILLINGS, MT — Dangerous weather is expected in the Billings area with strong winds, teeth-chattering temperatures and a chance of snow in the forecast this week.
The National Weather Service expects strong winds followed by cold temperatures and a chance of snow across the region Monday through Wednesday.
"[Monday] will be windy with westerly wind gusts of 40-55 mph," the weather service said. "A cold front will move through the area tonight bringing colder temperatures and a chance of snow Tuesday and Wednesday. Heads up if you have travel plans."

Low temperatures dipping to around zero degrees were possible Wednesday morning.
The weather service issued a hazardous weather outlook Monday for the following areas: Treasure, Rosebud, Custe, Fallon, Powder River, Carter, Red Lodge Foothills, Big Horn, Paradise Valley, Absaroka/Beartooth Mountains, Carbon, Bighorn Canyon, Pryor, Yellowstone, and the Sheridan Foothills.

The outlook affects stretches from south-central Montana to the southeastern part of the state and into north-central Wyoming.
