Youth Homes seeks community support for holiday activities for children in group homes (kpax.com) — Youth Homes is asking Missoula residents to help fund fun winter-break activities for about 40 children in local and Kalispell group homes, many of whom have never had simple experiences like going to the movies. Donations will support outings such as skating, hot springs trips, and skiing so these kids can enjoy the laughter, joy, and normal childhood memories many families take for granted.
   

2. Missoula Police Department detective graduates from FBI academy (missoulacurrent.com) — A Missoula Police Department detective lieutenant has just graduated from the FBI National Academy, bringing advanced leadership and communication training back to the city’s detective division. Lt. Ben Slater, a longtime MPD officer and University of Montana graduate, is the 20th department member to complete the prestigious 11‑week program in Quantico.
