Play Like Robert Foundation Awarded $5,000 from Hamilton Insurance
Through Liberty Mutual Insurance Company® and Safeco Insurance® 2024 Make More Happen™ Awards.
Supporters Can Help Double the Donation to $10,000 by Voting for their Agent Giving Story. Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded Hamilton Insurance a 2024 Make More Happen Award for its volunteerism with Play Like Robert Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to provide philanthropic support for special projects and programs that encourage educational and recreational activities in the name of Robert Anthony Leonardi. The award includes an initial donation of $5,000 for Play Like Robert Foundation which can be doubled to $10,000 just by having community supporters vote online.
Starting Monday, June 3, the Hamilton Insurance and Play Like Robert Foundation community story will be highlighted on the official Make More Happen microsite at https://www.agentgiving.com/Hamilton-Insurance-2024, where supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the featured story receives at least 500 votes, the $5,000 donation will be raised to $10,000.
The Play Like Robert Foundation was created in the memory of Robert Anthony Leonardi who tragically lost his life at the age of 9 in 2019 after being struck by a negligent and impaired driver. The organization’s programming strives to provide opportunities for the community to both learn and play in a safe manner that eases the fear of trying something new. The $10,000 donation will support a current campaign focused on the construction of a pedestrian and commuter path providing connectivity for neighborhoods with Daly Elementary School which is home to approximately 540 students and staff. The $1.7 million project, in partnership with local governmental entities, will result in a two-mile trail system providing for safety of travel and physical exercise for the entire community. The Play Like Robert Foundation has committed over $50,000 for the preliminary engineering and design for this current phase and is in the initial stages of design for future expansion of the trail system.

“We are honored and incredibly grateful for being awarded the 2024 Make More Happen Award so we can continue to help our community,” said Bryan Jones, agent and owner of Hamilton Insurance. “Play Like Robert Foundation has had a significant impact in the Hamilton-area, and we are thrilled to double the donation with community support.”
The Play Like Robert Foundation has a significant meaning to the Hamilton Insurance office – office manager, Mary Wetzsteon, was Robert’s aunt and on-site during the tragic accident. Wetzsteon has served as an event volunteer since the inception of Robert’s Run, an annual event symbolic of Robert’s passion for play and staying active. The run includes a 10k, 5k and 1-mile chip-timed run/walk in Hamilton, Montana. She has contributed approximately 30 hours of volunteer service for the event yearly and has covered duties from awards to preparing race day bags for the hundreds of participants. Hamilton Insurance has supported Robert’s Run with a financial contribution for the past three years andall proceeds from Robert's Run benefit the Play Like Robert Foundation.
