Motorcycle crash in Missoula leaves one deceased (montanarightnow.com) — A 32-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon after a collision with a van at West Broadway and Maple Street in Missoula, briefly closing nearby lanes while police investigated. The van’s driver stayed on scene and cooperated, and the roadway has since reopened. Missoula Police say the investigation continues and are withholding further details for now.
   

2. Missoula police volunteer at animal shelter, boost holiday pet adoptions (montanarightnow.com) — Missoula residents may spot familiar police officers helping out at the local animal shelter, where they recently spent a training day cleaning kennels, walking dogs, and feeding cats. The department hopes their volunteer work will boost holiday pet adoptions and better prepare officers to handle lost, abused, or neglected animals in the community.
   

3. Defending State AA champion Billings Skyview wins thriller over Missoula Big Sky boys (missoulian.com) — Missoula hoops fans saw a nail-biter as defending Class AA champion Billings Skyview edged Missoula Big Sky 53–52 on Saturday in Missoula, with Jaysun Mims scoring 19 for the Falcons. The tightly contested game, coached by Skyview’s James Bulluck, offered an early-season test for Big Sky and a preview of how both programs may stack up in the AA race.
   

4. Wilkins donation creates Conservation Education Center in Montana (winchesterstar.com) — A major donation from Virginia philanthropist James R. Wilkins Jr. has transformed the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s former visitors center in Missoula into the new James R. Wilkins Jr. Conservation Education Center, packed with interactive, youth-focused exhibits. The upgraded facility, opened this fall, uses digital displays and 3-D panoramas to teach visitors about elk habitat, conservation, and how locals can get involved.
