Here are the top three stories in Missoula today:
- A woman was arrested after a chase with the Missoula Police Department. The 24-year-old suspect, Kayce Zachariasen, was apprehended after fleeing on foot. During the arrest, she spat at the officers and made threats towards them and their families. Zachariasen is now in custody at the Missoula County Detention Facility, facing charges including assault with a weapon, obstructing a peace officer, and resisting arrest. (NBC Montana)
- Missoula Public Library has partnered with Missoula Family YMCA to offer free yoga classes at the library. With a focus on basic postures, alignment principles, and breathing techniques, participants can strengthen and stretch their bodies. Limited to 25 participants on a first-come, first-served basis, attendees must sign a liability waiver and can bring their own mats or use the provided ones. (Subscription: Missoulian)
- The Missoula Conservation District (MCD) has opened applications for three mini grants, each ranging up to $500. The grants are available to local community groups, schools, conservation organizations, and individuals. The Education Mini Grant aims to increase awareness and interest in natural resource management and conservation issues in Missoula County. The Continuing Education Mini Grant supports individuals attending educational programs related to natural resource management. The Operations Mini Grant offers financial support to organizations with a budgetary requirement and a conservation mission aligned with that of the MCD.
