Construction finishes on Lincoln's first permanent supportive housing facility (1011now.com) — A new 24-unit permanent supportive housing complex called The Jay is opening at 8th and J streets to serve Lincoln’s chronically homeless residents. Staffed around the clock by CenterPointe, it will connect tenants with health care, recovery support, and employment services, largely funded through grants and housing vouchers so most residents pay little or nothing at first. 
2. Lincoln legal expert weighs in as Australia bans social media for kids under 16 (klkntv.com) — A Lincoln law professor is breaking down why Australia’s new ban on social media for kids under 16 would face big First Amendment hurdles in the U.S. He and a local father explore how such rules might protect children, but also risk driving teens to more dangerous corners of the internet, while noting Nebraska’s own steps on age-appropriate online design.
3. Michigan State LB, former Michigan transfer, reportedly headed to portal (mlive.com) — A recent Nebraska–Michigan State football game in Lincoln provides the backdrop for news that Spartans linebacker Semaj Bridgeman plans to enter the transfer portal. The former four-star recruit and Michigan transfer mostly played special teams and would become the ninth roster departure since Michigan State’s coaching change.
4. Nebraska farmer continues 10-year mission to keep Pine Ridge Reservation warm (1011now.com) — A Lincoln-area farmer known as “Farmer Bill” is again leading a winter coat drive to help families on the Pine Ridge Reservation stay warm, with support from local businesses. He’s asking Lincoln residents to donate new or gently used coats, hats, gloves, and snowsuits at listed drop-off locations through Dec. 21, emphasizing how much the community’s help is needed.
5. ACA tax credits set to expire, threatening 130,000 Nebraskans with doubled premiums (1011now.com) — From Lincolnns are being warned that ACA tax credits are set to expire soon, which could more than double premiums for about 130,000 residents. Local advocates and a Nebraska retiree describe tough choices, while Sen. Pete Ricketts weighs competing Democratic and Republican proposals that both face long odds in the U.S. Senate.
