β€œI love debates and look forward to highlighting my accomplishments contrasted against my opponent’s far left record,” Bacon said.

Vargas’ campaign also released a statement regarding the upcoming debates.

β€œAs a state senator, I joined my Republican colleagues to pass two of the biggest property tax cuts in Nebraska history and to remove taxes on Social Security income, to help put more money back in the pockets of our seniors,” Vargas said.

The first debate is scheduled for Oct. 13 and will be hosted by the League of Women Voters and the Omaha Press Club over the lunch hour.

The second debate will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 and will be hosted and broadcasted by KETV.

Vargas is challenging Bacon to represent the 2nd Congressional District. The general election is Nov. 8.
