• Churchill school superintendent announces retirement (nevadaappeal.com) — Churchill County School District superintendent Derild Parsons plans to retire June 30, ending a 25-year career in local schools that included roles at West End and Lahontan elementary schools and Churchill County High. His departure follows former superintendent Summer Stephens, who previously left Fallon for a Nebraska district, and will prompt a leadership transition affecting Fallon students, staff, and families. 
• Western Nevada College expands nursing program in Fallon (2news.com) — Western Nevada College is significantly expanding its nursing program on the Fallon campus, with a major renovation of the Piñon Building set to begin in January 2026. The upgrade will add modern labs and training spaces so Fallon students can complete all required nursing classes locally, increasing capacity from eight to up to 48 students and boosting healthcare education access in Churchill County.
