Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:
- AAA reports that flight disruptions and traffic-filled highways could impact Labor Day Weekend in Las Vegas. The not-for-profit travel service organization has issued a travel advisory for Labor Day after reports that travel will return to pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels in Las Vegas. According to a recent online survey, 32 percent of Americans are planning to travel during the 3-day weekend. (Casino.Org News)
- There were no injuries during a fire on the 10th floor of the Fremont Hotel. The Las Vegas Fire Department reports extinguishing the hotel room fire at 4:48 a.m. on Wednesday morning. The department is investigating the fire's cause and has not ruled out smoking as a possibility. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
- The Las Vegas Metro Police Department has confirmed that a missing Phoenix man named Amir Haggi is the individual that was found dead in a car's trunk on Aug. 19. The department has not made any arrests yet but the cause of death has been confirmed as a gunshot to the head. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
