With 68 beds and plans for up to 200 staff, the facility aims to fill a major gap for people facing both serious health issues and substance use disorders, providing 24/7 detox, psychiatric care, and recovery support.

Las Vegas man shot by police had cellphone, not gun, report says (reviewjournal.com) — Las Vegas police shot a 25-year-old man in the arm after mistaking his cellphone for a gun during a pre-dawn traffic stop west of the Strip, according to an arrest report. The man was treated and released from University Medical Center and now faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges in Las Vegas Justice Court, while the officer who fired is on paid administrative leave pending review.
   

5. Man turns himself in for deadly downtown Las Vegas shooting, police say (fox5vegas.com) — Las Vegas police say a 31-year-old man has turned himself in after a deadly downtown shooting earlier this month near South 15th Street and Charleston Boulevard. He faces murder and robbery charges, and investigators are still asking residents with information to contact LVMPD’s homicide unit or Crime Stoppers.
