- Sheriff Joe Lombardo reports that escaped convict Porfirio Duarte-Herrera has been captured. He escaped on Friday night and was captured on Wednesday near downtown Las Vegas. He escaped using battery acid to erode his cell's window seal. (Fox 5 Vegas)
- The Las Vegas Desert Dogs have donated lacrosse gear throughout Clark County. The donated gear included improved goals at Las Vegas community fields. Select elementary and middle schools in Clark County will be including lacrosse in P.E. curriculums. The team is currently prepping for its first season. (News3LV)
- Las Vegas PRIDE will be hosting a variety of events this month. The popular Las Vegas PRIDE Parade will be on Friday, Oct. 7. The parade's grandstand will be located at South 4th Street and East Bridger Avenue, with the parade starting at 7:00 p.m. There will be food and beverage vendors at the 4th Street Block Party.
