Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:
- The Eldorado High School student accused of brutally attacking a teacher has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges. Jonathan Garcia has been accused of sexually assaulting and attempting to kill his teacher. He will be appointed a public defender and will stand trial as an adult due to the nature of the charges. His next court appearance will be on Sep. 7. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
- Las Vegas Fire & Rescue will be opening its firefighter trainee recruitment process. The period will open between Sep. 6 and Oct. 4. To qualify as an entry-level candidate, an individual must possess a valid driver's license, be over 18 years old, have at least a high school diploma, and have a current Nevada State or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certificate. - FlixBus will begin offering routes from Las Vegas to Palm Springs on Friday. The express line will operate Friday through Monday. The route will depart from Palm Springs at 9:10 a.m. and arrive in Las Vegas by 2:45 p.m. Tickets will start at $34.99 but a 2-week advance booking discount will be available. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
