🌱 Formula 1 Event + Three Square Food Bank Gets 600 Lbs. Of Tomatoes

Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:
- Formula 1 will be hosting a free launch party on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Caesars Palace. The event will be from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. with a variety of events designed to "thrill guests." Several race teams and drivers will be represented at the historic free event. This is a must-attend event for race fans. (Fox 5 Vegas)
- Las Vegas' Three Square Food Bank, the only food bank in Southern Nevada, was given 600 pounds of locally-grown tomatoes. Nevada farmer Rodney Mehring delivered the tomatoes last week. The state passed a bill last year that allows the usage of state funds to buy locally grown food for distribution to local food banks. The tomato delivery is the first food order completed under the new bill. (Nevada Current)
- An inmate serving a life sentence for a deadly 2007 Las Vegas bombing has escaped from a Nevada prison. Porfirio Duarte-Herrera's escape from Southern Desert Correctional Centeroccurred on Tuesday. He had been behind bars since 2010. The Nevada Department of Corrections is asking the community to report any information related to Duarte-Herrera immediately. (Patch)
