Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. Las Vegas' Pat Christenson is retiring. He is responsible for transforming the city's concert and sports industries since 1980. He brought major live acts and sports to the city such as The Grateful Dead, the NBA, and Guns 'N' Roses. The Las Vegas Events President will be retiring after this year's Rodeo. (KNPR)
  2. Las Vegas City Council member Victoria Seaman is reporting the "horrible" conditions at the Animal Foundation. The conditions were seen by Seaman while touring the organization's intake area. According to Seaman, she witnessed cages with feces, neglected animals, and an understaffed center. The Animal Foundation has refuted the statements. Seaman is requesting an audit of the foundation. 3. The dog that fatally mauled a Las Vegas woman has been euthanized. The incident occurred last month and resulted in the death of Joan Cafflel. The euthanization of Buck was confirmed by the Animal Foundation. The dog was deemed "vicious" by the City of Las Vegas based on city ordinance criteria. (News3LV)
