Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. No one was injured during a Saturday night shooting at Town Square Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. and several rounds were fired by an unknown individual. The department believes the shooting was not random. The department is conducting an investigation. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
  2. Tomorrow, Sep. 20, the city will celebrate the Aces' 78-71 win against the Connecticut Sun with a parade along the Las Vegas Strip. Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft said the procession will start near Caesars Palace and head southbound on Las Vegas Boulevard to the Fountains of Bellagio, where a stage will be set up. Sunday's historic WNBA Finals win is the first title for the Aces and the first major league championship win for a Las Vegas team. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
  3. The federal government has reportedly removed the secret weapons-grade plutonium from a site north of Las Vegas. The U.S. Department of Energy shipped the nuclear material to Nevada and kept it a secret for national security reasons. The material is supposedly now at a site in New Mexico. (KDWN)
