Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:
- Las Vegas resident, Johnathan Demaya, 23, has been arrested for making threats to an east valley Walgreens store after being fired. He has been charged by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department with making a terror threat and communicating a bomb threat. He was fired for allegedly chasing after a customer during a dispute. (News 3 LV)
- U.S. District Judge Gloria M. Navarro has sentenced Las Vegas' Vincent Okoye, 40, to three years and five months in prison. The sentencing was for his role in a conspiracy to commit mail fraud. He plead guilty in June. Over $550,000 fraudulent unemployment claims were approved through the conspiracy. (Justice.gov)
- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a fatal apartment complex shooting as an accident. The incident occurred at Ensemble Senior Apartments on Sep. 9. Valerie Whitaker, 62, was killed when a bullet went through a wall. No charges have been filed yet. (8NewsNow.com)
