Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. Spirit Airlines has announced a new route at the Harry Reid International Airport. The budget airline will be offering flights between Reno and Las Vegas. The new Reno route is one of the three new routes announced by Spirit Airlines. Albuquerque and Boise are the other new destinations. (Casino.Org News)
  2. A woman was fatally mauled by a dog in central Las Vegas on Tuesday. The incident occurred at an apartment on Pennwood Avenue around 9:45 a.m. The victim was reportedly an elderly individual. The dog was turned over to animal control and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has opened an investigation into the incident. (KNTV)
  3. A Las Vegas area Supermoon and meteor shows will likely cancel each other out. The astronomical events will likely cause too much light for local astronomers to accurately view them. The events will be occurring tomorrow night. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
