Las Vegas Chinatown restaurants damaged after two-alarm fire (asamnews.com) — A major early-morning fire heavily damaged The Halal Guys in Las Vegas’ Chinatown and also impacted neighboring Krung Siam Hai and a former Starbucks, drawing about 80 firefighters from Las Vegas and North Las Vegas. No one was inside, but employees say the loss of this community staple leaves many workers suddenly without jobs while investigators search for the cause.

Las Vegas area buy, sell trade stores offer alternatives to traditionalreturns (8newsnow.com) — If you’re stuck with unwanted holiday gifts in Las Vegas, several local buy-sell-trade shops, including Downtown Las Vegas’ Toy Shack, are offering an easy alternative to traditional returns. Tupac Shakur murder suspect challenges Las Vegas police search as 'unlawful' nighttime raid (foxnews.com) — A Las Vegas man charged in Tupac Shakur’s 1996 killing is asking a Clark County judge to throw out evidence from a nighttime raid by Las Vegas police, calling it an unlawful search based on misleading information. His attorneys argue Nevada law’s requirements for nighttime searches weren’t met, while the murder case, tied to a 1996 Las Vegas shooting, moves toward trial next year.
   

4. Young and old alike celebrate Kwanzaa during colorful Las Vegas event (reviewjournal.com) — A packed crowd filled the West Las Vegas Arts Center as longtime resident Helen Anderson Toland was honored as “village leader” during a vibrant Kwanzaa celebration. The event highlighted local youth with rite-of-passage graduations, dance and music, while community leaders emphasized Kwanzaa’s principles of self-determination, unity, and cultural pride for Las Vegas’ African American community.
