Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. President Joe Biden has released a statement regarding the fifth anniversary of the tragic mass shooting that occurred during the Route 91 Harvest Festival. In the statement, President Biden promises to work with Congress to enact commonsense gun violence prevention legislation. The proposed legislation would ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines — such as the one that a lone gunman used during a concert in Las Vegas five years ago to kill 60 Americans. (Whitehouse.gov)
  2. A neutral third-party investigation has concluded that both Las Vegas City councilwomen violated City Council policies during the 2021 hallway altercation. The investigator found Councilwoman Seaman's complaint to be unsubstantiated. Both Councilwoman Michele Fiore and Councilwoman Victoria Seaman violated the council code by being disrespectful to members of the City Council and city staff. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
  3. The Remember Music Festival raised funds for a permanent memorial for Route 91 Harvest Festival on Saturday. The festival, held at the Clark County Amphitheater, was hosted by a group of survivors named The Country Strong Project. All proceeds from the festival sales will be going to charity. (8 News Now)
