Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:
- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reportedly arrested a woman for stealing an individual's Rolex watch from a hotel room on the Las Vegas Strip. Taylor Sharde, 36, was arrested on Sunday for grand larceny. According to the police report, the individual met Sharde on the Wynn casino floor before inviting her back to his room. (News3LV)
- The University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus, is now completely smoke-free. The change went into effect on Aug. 15 and students were welcomed back yesterday. The ban restricts vapes, cigarettes, and pipe smoke on campus grounds. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the policy shift. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
- A recent study using recent U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates Las Vegas was significantly impacted by the "Great Resignation." The Workamajig study ranks Las Vegas as number two on its list. According to the data, the city had nine percent of its employees change positions between May 2021 and May 2022.
