Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:
- Clark County has announced that a social service outreach team will be deployed to the Las Vegas Strip. The team will help foster an environment of safety in the area while responding to the location's recent increase in homelessness. The team will be partnering with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department during its deployment. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
- The 21st annual Las Vegas Book Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The free event will be headlined by Carl Bernstein, Kiley Reid, and Elin Hilderbrand. It will be held at the Historic Fifth Street School in downtown Las Vegas. (KNPR)
- Downtown Las Vegas' former Greyhound station will be the site of a new gallery. New York-based Koichi Sato and Susumu Kajimo along with Los Angeles-based Jonas Wood will be providing the artwork. The gallery is meant to show how the location can be transformed. (KNPR)
