Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:
- There were four traffic-related deaths in the Las Vegas valley on Friday. The first incident occurred on Las Vegas Blvd and resulted in the deaths of two drivers. The second incident occurred on Carey Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard. The last incident involved a motorcycle at Centennial and Hualapai. Through the end of August, there have been 157 traffic-related deaths in Clark County this year. (News 3 LV)
- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports that a stolen Torah has been recovered. The Torah was reportedly stolen on Jun. 8 from a convention room. The ancient artifact has been returned to its owner. No arrests have been made in the theft as of Sunday evening. (US News)
- Beginning next month, suspected DUI individuals in Las Vegas will begin having blood drawn on the spot. Phlebotomists will begin patrolling with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to collect blood samples during traffic stops and accidents. The program is being funded through a Nevada Office of Traffic Safety grant worth $545,000. (Casino.org)
