- It might be New Year's Eve weekend, but maintenance workers throughout Reno aren't taking a break. They will be working 24 hours a day from through Jan. 1. This is due to the huge forecasted storm and flood watch advisory hitting Reno. They will focus on clearing obstructions and dealing with unexpected flooding in the area. (KOLO)
- Despite the ominous weather heading our way, the ROW annual fireworks show in downtown Reno is still scheduled to go on as planned. The final decision will come down to the city's fire marshal, who will make the call about 15 to 30 minutes before the show based on the weather. The fireworks are planned to be launched from the top of the Silver Legacy. (FoxReno.com)
- For local military veterans with an unexpected medical emergency, the Veterans Guest House on Locust Street in Reno has its doors open to help. The nonprofit organization provides a safe place for veterans and their families to stay while they are receiving medical treatment in the area, regardless of their insurance coverage. The guest house also helps those who are traveling in by providing gas cards and other transportation assistance. Learn more about the organization here. (News 4)
