  1. Amazon donated 45 laptops to two schools in Washoe County on Thursday. The laptops are intended to support the STEM programs at Lemmon Valley Elementary School and Washoe Inspire Academy. (FoxReno.com)
  2. Reno-based Clear Capital continued with layoffs on Thursday with another 250 employees, about a quarter of the staff at the real estate appraisal and technology company. This newest round of layoffs is the second for the firm in the last three months. The CEO cited the changing housing market and the need for restructuring as the reason behind the layoffs. 3. The owners of Wrightway Market are fighting back after the City of Reno decided not to renew the market's liquor license. The city's decision not to renew the license is part of its attempt to reduce crime in the area where the market is located. The market's owners said that the issues in the surrounding area are unfairly being attributed to the market and that as a result of losing the liquor license, the market may lose up to $1,500 a month in revenue.
