Here are the top three stories today in Reno:

  1. The bodies of a woman from Reno and a man from Carson City, which were discovered inside a parked vehicle at the Tesla Giga Factory in the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Complex on Jun. 16, have been identified. The deceased individuals have been identified as Crystal Aubert, 41, and Steven McGough, 41. The Storey County Sheriff's Office has notified their next of kin and currently does not suspect any foul play, while investigations into the incident continue. Anybody with information is asked to contact Detective Matthew Willette of the Storey County Sheriff’s Office at 775-847-0959. (Carson Now)
  2. As summer begins, Reno is experiencing unusually cold temperatures with lows in the 30s and highs barely reaching the 70s, contrary to expectations. Tyler Salas from the National Weather Service attributes this unseasonable weather to persistent low pressure over the past month, indicating that the situation may not improve soon. The National Weather Service advises residents to protect sensitive plants and bring pets indoors, as temperatures are expected to be 10 to 15 degrees below average. Additionally, Reno has already experienced the second wettest May on record, making it likely that this year could become the wettest water year ever for the city with over three months still remaining. (FoxReno.com)
  3. Two individuals and their dogs were forced to vacate their Reno residence due to a Monday morning house fire. Responding to the incident on Thomas Creek Road, between Rock Haven and Fellowship, fire crews from the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District determined that the blaze originated in the attic. Although no injuries were reported, the home suffered notable smoke damage, and the investigation into the precise cause is ongoing. (KOLO)
