  1. Reno residents are invited to attend a Christmas tree lighting ceremony hosted by the City of Reno and Downtown Reno Partnership on Dec. 7. The event begins at 5:00 p.m. in the Reno City Plaza and will feature coffee, hot cocoa, and crepes for purchase. Travelers are advised that First Street between Virginia Street and University will be closed between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on the day of the event. (KOLO)
  2. The Reno Fire Department reports that no injuries were sustained during a 12-car spinout at the intersection of Sierra Highlands Drive and Mae Anne Avenue on Thursday night. Crews responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday to address the accident caused by icy road conditions. Officials say both roads were sanded following the incident and the intersection reopened after only an hour of closure. (KRNV)
  3. Hundreds of Gold Rush-era artifacts from an 1857 shipwreck will go up for sale to the public today during an auction in Reno. The artifacts up for auction include an 1849 Colt pocket pistol, an illustrated 1849 edition of "The Count of Monte Cristo," and the lid from the oldest known Wells Fargo treasure shipment box. Experts believe several of the items could fetch as much as $1M during the sale. (KOLO)
