  1. The Reno City Council officially confirmed Kathryn Nance as the city's newest chief of police during the council's meeting on Wednesday night. Nance will become the first woman to lead the Reno Police Department and comes from the Stockton Police Department where she served as the deputy chief of operations. (KRNV)
  2. The City of Reno hosted an open house on Thursday night to hear public input regarding a proposed resort-casino on the corner of South Virginia Street and Kietkze Lane. The Firecreek Crossing Resort and Casino will take up nearly 20 acres of land and include around 200 rooms and a 62,500 square-foot gaming floor. (News 4)
  3. Reno has a new restaurant and sports bar. Swift Sportsdome held a grand opening on Thursday evening for The Hangout, a new restaurant inside the indoor sports facility that offers a little bit of everything. (KOLO)
