Here are the top three stories in Reno today:
- Reno-based company nZero was named one of TIME Magazine's Best Inventions of 2022. The company's technology has a carbon data and sustainability platform that helps organizations reach climate change goals through carbon management. The mission and urgency of the sustainability start-up is an opportunity to take action against climate change. (Carson Now)
- Reno police are searching for two suspects related to carjacking a victim at gunpoint. The suspects entered the vehicle from the back seat and demanded the victim and passenger drive them to another location. Both individuals fled the black 2016 Ford Explorer, and the suspects drove off with the victim's cash and vehicle. (KTVN)
- After exhaustive efforts, Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center closed its Maternal Child Health Services program. Patients will be transferred to nearby facilities, and employees affected by the closure will be offered other positions at the hospital or another Prime Healthcare facility. Declining birth rates, staffing realignments, and limited anesthesia coverage greatly affected the maternity department. (KRNV)
