  1. The Reno City Council approved $1.3 million in additional funding for the Mayors Park upgrades. The new final cost for the upgrades is estimate at around $2.6 million. (This Is Reno)
  2. Dilworth Middle School down the road in Sparks canceled classes on Friday due to staff absences. The school was locked down on Thursday after a fight at the school where a staff member was injured. (KOLO)
  3. Reno firefighters will gather Saturday morning to hand out around 200 food baskets to families in need. The traditional program is known as the Sam Saibini Christmas Food Basket Program and has run for nearly 90 years. (KOLO)
