  1. The West Wash Dam, located near Wyoming Avenue north of Kings Row in old northwest Reno, is out of compliance. Reno is in the process of getting it in working order. The dam protects about 30,000 homes from flooding in the Peavine Mountain watershed. This project likely won't start construction until 2025 and, if all goes accordingly, will finish in 2028. (This Is Reno)
  2. According to a leading Nevada developer, Northern Nevada’s "industrial eco-system" is shifting east of the Reno/Sparks area. In Southern Nevada, industrial growth could come south of Las Vegas on the Interstate 15 corridor. However, this future development may hinge on the approval of the Southern Nevada Economic Development and Conservation Act. (Nevada Appeal)
  3. Reno-Sparks high schools will not play Las Vegas' top schools under one football realignment plan presented on Monday. The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association realignment committee's goal is to avoid lopsided state championship games in the state's top class. Bishop Gorman beat Bishop Manogue 70-6 last November, and the Gaels have won 12 of the past 13 state championships and 19 overall. (Subscription: Reno Gazette Journal)
