Meet A Future Leader In Reno: Md. Abu Sayed
Patch and T-Mobile have partnered to highlight young people achieving great things in our community.

The future of Reno is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Md. Abu Sayed, who are making a positive impact in and around Reno.
Abu, a Ph.D. student in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno, stands out as a young leader in the Reno community. As a council member of the Graduate Student Association in the College of Engineering, he focuses his research on Robotic Vision, specifically activity and intent recognition from groups of agents in Naval Space. Before joining the University in Fall 2021, Abu was a lecturer at The Millennium University in Bangladesh and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Khulna University.
Beyond his academic achievements, Abu has actively contributed to enriching campus life through leadership and volunteer work. He served as vice president of the International Students Club, where he organized the highly successful Night of All Nations event in 2023, celebrating cultural diversity on campus. During the 2022-23 sessions, he also held the position of Treasurer for the Bangladeshi Student Association. Abu’s dedication to fostering inclusive communities and advancing cutting-edge research highlights his exceptional contributions as a young leader at the University of Nevada, Reno.
