Mountain Lakes Estates Celebrates Team Members

Chef Carlo and volunteer Debbie Machen recognized as Shining Star Caregivers by Nevada Caregivers Coalition

During the 2021 Caregiver Recognition Virtual Event, the Nevada Caregivers Coalition recognized two team members from Mountain Lakes Estates Retirement Living for their hard work and extraordinary commitment to caregiving in both paid and unpaid roles.

Carlos Martinez Murillo and Debbie Machen are among 20 Mission Senior Living team members celebrated during the virtual event, hosted by Mission Senior Living at its home office in Carson City. Nate Williams, the administrator at Mountain Lakes Estates, nominated team members.

Carlos Martinez Murillo joined Mountain Lakes Estates in 2020 as its first executive chef. In addition to caring for residents with his home-cooked meals, Murillo cares for his 17-year-old son who was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy as an infant. To help cover the costs of medical care for his son, Carlos also runs a small hot dog stand in Reno.
