- Scoot for the Stars Rescue gives disabled dogs in Reno a second chance. The Scoot for the Stars Rescue works with dogs with mobility issues, blindness, or other disabilities that may make them difficult to adopt. From now until 12 a.m. on Saturday, anyone who makes a $10 online donation to the group has the chance to name the new puppy. Donations will go toward treatment costs for the dogs. - Dennis Mark Glenn of Reno has been found guilty of animal cruelty. Police were called to his house after a report of a fight in progress. Police determined the fight had broken out when bystanders saw Glenn beating his dog. [Trigger warning] Surveillance footage confirmed that Glenn punched the dog multiple times before picking it up and throwing it across the street onto the sidewalk, where he again punched it multiple times. - A Reno man died from injuries sustained after a single-vehicle crash. On Feb. 8, crews responded to a single-vehicle collision on Longley Lane and Aircenter Circle, where a Corvette was traveling south on Longley Lane and struck a tree. On Feb. 10, the passenger died at the hospital. Anyone with information is urged to call the Reno Police Department's non-emergency line at (775) 334-2677. (FoxReno.com)
