- Rebuilding Together Northern Nevada (RTNN), a Reno-based nonprofit organization, provides free home repairs to low and moderate-income homeowners. RTTN repairs bathrooms and electrical issues and installs railing and grab bars for those in need. The organization has completed about 300 repairs for 52 households in 2022, though there is a waiting list for future projects. If you'd like to support the organization, you can participate in their first annual corn hole tournament fundraiser on Feb. 2. (FoxReno.com)
- Reno Police are looking for the driver who struck a man lying illegally in the street early Thursday morning. The incident occurred on Mill Street and Kirkman, and the unidentified Chrysler 200 did not stop. Anyone with information is encouraged to call RPD's non-emergency numbers available in the link. (KOLO)
- The Reno City Council members approved over $23 million in federal funding to cover ambulance transport for the next four years. The grant is provided by the Ground Emergency Medical Transport (GEMT) program, which uses Medicaid funds to reimburse private and public emergency medical services. The Reno Fire Department requested $3.3 million in reimbursement for 2021 means of transport and requested the funding agreement for 2024-2027 be set at $20 million. (This Is Reno)
