- Power was restored to the majority of southwest Reno on Sunday evening after an outage impacted more than 5,200 customers earlier that morning. Officials with NV Energy say the outage occurred around 10:23 a.m. after a power pole or wire went down. As of 5:50 p.m. on Sunday, all but 54 NV Energy customers had had their power restored. (KOLO)
- The City of Reno has scored a perfect 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Municipal Equality Index (MEI) for the fifth year in a row. The MEI evaluates 506 cities nationwide on the inclusivity of their laws, policies, and services for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Reno received bonus points for expanding a non-discrimination statement in the city's Purchasing Policy, independent contract agreements, and policy and professional service contracts (Press Release Desk)
- Crews with the Reno Fire Department extinguished a house fire near 10th and Montello streets in Reno on Saturday afternoon. The fire destroyed a parked car and one home and severely damaged a second, though both homes were boarded up and appeared vacant. The fire department has not yet determined the cause of the blaze.
