Here are the top three stories in Reno today:

  1. The new Reno City Center courtyard is set to begin construction this week to replace the former Harrah's Reno Plaza, which has sat vacant for the last three years. The area's new owners plan for the courtyard to be able to host concerts and events. The renovations will include permanent and temporary seatings, elevated levels for viewing spots, and lots of grass lawns and trees. (Subscription: Reno Gazette Journal)
  2. The Mammovan from the Nevada Health Center will be making several stops in western Nevada this week, including in Reno. The Mammovan provides screenings for women aged 40 and older and for women younger than 40 years old when referred by their provider. The Mammovan accepts most insurance plans and has a sliding-fee scale for people seeking a screening who don't have insurance. You can catch the Mammovan at the Black History Month Family Wellness Fair at the Boys and Girls Club in Reno on Saturday from 7:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. (KOLO)
  3. The National Bowling Stadium in downtown Reno is inviting the community to celebrate National Bowling Day. The special event will be on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The first 200 guests to attend will get a pair of National Bowling Stadium socks, and all proceeds and non-perishable canned food donations will be donated to local nonprofit organizations.
