  1. Reno High School is looking for a new head football coach after Jason Ehlen stepped down after three seasons. The school is now looking for its fourth head coach in six years. Ehlen said, "It was a great group of kids and an outstanding group of parents. I feel very fortunate to have all of them and kind of being a head coach and just having such a great group in the Reno community there." (Nevada Sports Net)
  2. Reno residents in Ward 2 were able to discuss concerns about future pans for a casino in the area last week during a town hall meeting. The Firecreek Crossing Resort and Casino would sit on almost 20 acres at the northwest corner of South Virginia Street and Kietzke Lane. The resort would feature convention space, a 13-story hotel, and span over one million square feet. Residents brought up concerns about the possibility of a sky bridge, increased traffic, and the close proximity of gaming to the residential area. (Subscription: This Is Reno)
  3. Reno has already hit the record for the second wettest water year the city has seen. The water year, which started on Oct. 1, 2022, has already surpassed the annual average precipitation of 7.35 inches.
