  1. Victor Andrade, 30, of Reno has been arrested and charged with two counts of arson. According to officials, Andrade set fire to a home on Dec. 11 before going to a second location and lighting his ex-girlfriend's car on fire. Police have not released any information about Andrade's motive for lighting the fires. (KKOH)
  2. The Reno city council voted to revoke the liquor licenses of two downtown convenience stores on Wednesday. Wrightway market and Lakemill Maxi Mart were cited as hotspots of both service crime and violent crime. The council members voted 5-2 to permanently prohibit both locations from selling alcohol. (KRNV)
  3. According to the Washoe County Health District, Washoe County RSV infection rates are the highest in Nevada. Washoe County has had 1,224 RSV cases since October. At this time last year, there were a hundred fewer RSV cases. With flu cases on the rise, health officials are concerned about the culmination of illnesses. (KOLO)

From my notebook:

  • A local dog went missing on Nov. 25 near Bowie Road and Kirston Street. The owners say Scarlette is not very friendly, and anyone who sees her should contact them instead of approaching or chasing her. (Reno, NV - Lost Dogs, Cats & Pets via Facebook)
  • "How to Survive Your Family at Christmas" by William Missouri Downs is back for one more weekend of performances. Tickets are still available for the show at Reno Little Theater here. (Reno Little Theater via Facebook)
