- Reno police arrested eight impaired drivers on Saturday, with one arrest for felony drunken driving. Seven officers and one sergeant made 81 traffic stops that afternoon into Saturday night during the operation. (KOLO)
- The nonprofit annually hosting Reno's Earth Day celebration for the past decade has dissolved. Mercury Momentum’s board of directors announced it would not be hosting Earth Day this year due to the president and treasurer moving to Georgia and another member taking a leave of absence, leaving only two members on the board. The president hopes another organization will take over future events. (This Is Reno)
- In case you missed it: A longtime member of the Stockton Police Department and deputy chief in the Northern California police agency Kathryn Nance will be Reno's first-ever female police chief. Current Chief Jason Soto is retiring after 25 years of service in Reno and will step down in February. Nance will be one of 300 women nationwide to hold this position; she attributes her success in attaining the position to the women before her who have paved the way. (The Nevada Independent)

- Layoffs have affected health care workers in Southern Nevada; however, the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS) has 230 open positions at facilities across the Las Vegas area. VASNHS is recruiting physicians, nurses, engineers, and more. You can visit the facility's career page for positions and information. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
- Westbound I-80 was closed on Friday after a rockslide at Mystic in Nevada County. Chains were required for vehicles heading over the pass. (KOLO)
