Here are the top three stories today in Reno:

  1. A 10-year-old runaway girl, Franchesca "Alejandra" Guerra-Yanes, was successfully located and brought back home in Reno. The Reno Police Department had requested public assistance in finding her after she was reported missing from her residence on Grand Canyon Blvd. on Jun. 21. No further details on her return are currently available. (KRNV)
  2. Next week, the cannabis-themed magic show, Smokus Pocus, will make its return to Reno after a successful initial run earlier this year. The show, created by Ben Zabin, a former college weed dealer with a passion for magic, combines cannabis and illusions. The 90-minute performance, featuring real marijuana, has been improved since its previous iteration and now includes two magicians and enhanced production elements. Early bird general admission tickets for the show, which will take place on Jun. 30 at Reno's The Theatre at 505 Keystone Ave., range from $30 to $40. (Reno Gazette Journal)
  3. Jennifer Dietsch, a local artist known as "Baby J," has launched a series of group art sessions called Artopsy aimed at helping teenagers and young adults navigate their mental health struggles. The monthly event, taking place every third Wednesday of the month at The Bluebird Reno, combines educational mental health guidance with intuitive art therapy exercises to address daily challenges and promote mental health awareness. Despite her young age of 22, Dietsch has found a passion for merging art and therapy, and Artopsy serves as an additional resource for young individuals seeking better mental well-being during their break from school.
