- A South Reno Sam's Club was burgled before Thanksgiving Day. According to the Reno Police Department, the incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The store received extensive damage, including broken windows. Despite the vandalism, Sam's Club was open again on Wednesday. No information about a suspect had been released as of Wednesday evening. - The Rotary Club shared their holiday spirit by hosting a Thanksgiving luncheon for low-income seniors in Reno. Local organizations and volunteers from the community worked together to help provide over 200 seniors with holiday dinners. This important annual tradition not only nourishes low-income seniors, it gives them an opportunity to reconnect with old friends and even make some new ones. The City of Reno and additional rotary clubs also assisted in making the lunch a reality. (FoxReno.com)
- The Regional Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit of Reno performed an underage alcohol check last week. The operation was a joint effort between the unit and non-profit organization Join Together Northern Nevada. A 20-year-old volunteer was dispatched to 15 different businesses for the check. Of those checked, 10 of the businesses served the minor without confirming their age even after they were presented with the volunteer's actual license, which showed they were not of legal drinking age.
