- Schools across Reno and Sparks were delayed for two hours Monday morning due to icy roads and winter weather throughout Washoe County. Incline Village schools were closed entirely and classes were canceled. School district officials remind travelers to look out for students on their way to school during bouts of inclement weather. - The Nevada Women's Fund will begin accepting scholarship applications for the 2023-24 school year this Thursday, Dec. 15. Scholarships will begin at $2,000 and are intended to support women pursuing higher education. To apply or learn more, click here or call (775) 786-2335. (KOLO)
- Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday evening near El Rancho Drive and Capurro Way in nearby Sparks. The victim in the incident was transported to a nearby hospital, where they later died. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Sparks Police Department or call Secret Witness anonymously at 775-322-4900. (KKOH)
