Reno, Nevada — Without community leaders, Reno wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.

This submission comes from Lisa Willet, a Reno reader who nominated Marsha Cuddy-Brase.

What does this community leader do?

She owns and operates a nonprofit that provides everything someone may need when they are transitioning from homelessness to a new location. She charges nothing. She delivers and sets up an entire home for anyone in need. No paperwork is needed or required. She has helped veterans and people who have lost homes due to fire or natural disasters.

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?

She has been operating this nonprofit without any funding. I believe that if people knew about her organization, she could help more families.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

She is selfless and a true angel. I contacted her about two men who transitioned from the care project and were given an apartment without any furniture, appliances, or basic household items. She asked for the address and delivered everything they needed in one day.
