Here are the top three stories today in Reno:

  1. An ongoing investigation is underway following a morning shooting incident at Reno's Vagabond Inn. The victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen on Wednesday, underwent emergency surgery and is currently being treated as of the time of this writing. Law enforcement authorities are actively engaging with a person of interest in relation to the case while the investigation at the scene continues. (KOLO)
  2. Clear Facial Bar, a local business, is expressing gratitude to first responders and healthcare workers by offering them free facial services on Jun. 28. Frontline workers can get free, 30-minute Custom Express Facial treatment from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. by booking an appointment and showing a badge or form of employment on the appointment day. According to owner Jen Jeffers, over the past three years, Clear Facial Bar has been actively involved in giving back to the community through donations and care services, recognizing the importance of providing relaxation and skincare to frontline workers who often wear masks throughout the day. 3. Early on Wednesday morning, a fire broke out on E. 4th St. in Reno, resulting in the displacement of two individuals. Reno firefighters swiftly extinguished the flames, confining the damage to a single unit thanks to their proactive response. While one person required rescue from a nearby unit and another was taken to the hospital, there were no reported injuries among the firefighters. The Red Cross will be offering aid to those affected by the fire, as confirmed by officials in a statement. (KRNV)
