- Segments of Interstate 80 to southbound Interstate 580 reopened Tuesday evening as the first phase of the Spaghetti Bowl project neared completion. The widening of the Reno spaghetti bowl ramp is a project designed by the Nevada Department of Transportation in an effort to enhance traffic capacity. Construction first began in 2020 and is expected to be mostly complete by mid-December. (KOLO)
- A Reno boxing legend died Tuesday at the age of 85. Mills Lane first earned his fame as a boxer and referee, then became a Washoe County district attorney and judge. On Dec. 27, 2004, the City of Reno honored Lane by proclaiming the day "Mills Lane Day." A justice administration building downtown was also named in his honor. Lane's son Tommy says his father had been in hospice for a week before passing away on Dec. 6. (Reno Gazette Journal)
- Incline Village and RE/MAX Gold of Reno are teaming up to host Share, Care, and Give a Pair, an annual sock drive that benefits Northern Nevada HOPES. The program will be collecting new, unused socks for distribution to community members in need this winter. Socks can be dropped off through Jan. 31 at various locations.
