Sparks Rotary Hosts Kid’s Free Fishing Day Event Saturday June 8th

A fun, free and festive event for kids 17 and under. Fishing poles are provided!

The Rotary Club of Sparks in partnership with the City of Sparks and Nevada Department of Wildlife is excited to host the Kid’s Free Fishing Day Event. The fishing event is free for all kids 17 years old and younger. All youth must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. The registration opens at 6 am and the event is scheduled for 7-11 AM on Saturday June 8th at the Sparks Marina south side. Youth registered for this event may fish at this location without a fishing license. Kick off summer 2024 with this Sparks tradition!

Don’t have a fishing pole? No problem. Fishing poles and bait are provided, while supplies last. Last year, we supplied fishing poles to 1,200 kids. We recommend an early arrival as this is a popular event!

Never been fishing before? We have coach volunteers to help our youth anglers reel them in and NDOW will stock the lake with over 7,000 rainbow and brown trout in preparation for a fun and festive event!

Rotary brings together a global network of community leaders dedicated to tackling the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges. We connect 1.2 million members from more than 35,000 Rotary clubs in almost every country in the world. Their service improves lives both locally and internationally, from helping those in need in their own communities to working toward a polio-free world. On a local level, Sparks has 2 Rotary Clubs, the Rotary Club of Sparks and the Rotary Club of Sparks Centennial Sunrise. The clubs are collaborating on this event.
