  1. A Union Pacific train struck a pedestrian near Sutro Street and East Commercial Way yesterday morning. Investigators are unsure why the man was standing on the tracks but do not believe the crash was criminal. He survived the collision, and the train crew was not injured. (KOLO)
  2. A suspect is in custody after hitting a Reno police officer with a car. Officers from the Reno Police Department (RPD) attempted to stop a stolen vehicle with an infant inside on Thursday. The man who stole it, Michael Segna, sped away from the traffic stop and hit an officer. The officer was not seriously hurt. With help from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office RAVEN helicopter and K9s Thursday, RPD found Segna and the infant. (KRNV)
  3. Burning Man filed a lawsuit against a Reno-based geothermal company. Ormat Technologies, which operates geothermal plants in south Reno, pushed back on Burning Man’s recently filed lawsuit that claimed, "Ormat will drill 20 exploration wells and generate 900 days of noise from drilling." Ormat officials said the arts organization is making false claims, stoking fears, and misleading the public over a project near its festival site in Gerlach. (This Is Reno)
