Crews Search For Six Hours And Find Missing 78-year-old Man
A missing man in Alexandria, New Hampshire, was found after several agencies searched for him; he failed to return from an afternoon walk.

ALEXANDRIA, NH — Several agencies responded to the area of Washburn Road on Saturday for the report of a missing man.
Alexandria Police Department requested assistance from Bristol and Danbury Police along with members of the Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department. The NH Fish and Game Department was notified and Conservation Officers along with volunteers from New England K-9 and Upper Valley Wilderness Response Team responded to the area.
Conservation Officers learned a 78-year-old man had gone for an afternoon walk at 3 p.m. and did not return to his residence by the time the sun set. A family member initially searched the area roads and then called for help when they could not locate the man.

Searchers traveled area roads and searched the woods in an attempt to locate the missing man. At around 9:30 p.m., a conservation officer located the missing man in the woods a little over a half of a mile from his residence. The officer was able to assist the man to the nearest road where he was evaluated by the Bristol Fire and Rescue.
The man was transported to Speare Memorial Hospital for evaluation and identified as Richard Taylor from Alexandria. It was not determined how Taylor got this far from his residence or so far off the road. He was not dressed for an overnight stay where temperatures were expected to drop into the twenties.
