Daylight Saving Time 2022 In New Hampshire Begins This Weekend

Get ready for a little extra sunshine in the afternoon next week after we move our clocks forward an hour Sunday night.

NEW HAMPSHIRE — Before spring can really start, New Hampshire residents still have to partake in the twice a year ritual known as daylight saving time.

Some love it, some hate it - but either way, the Granite State will be seeing the sun for a little bit longer and later in the afternoon after this weekend.

While the first day of spring is March 20, clocks will spring forward over a week before.

The "spring forward" clock shift occurs each year at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March — or March 13 this year.

This will give all New Englanders a little extra sunshine in the afternoon - with sunrise not starting until 6:59 a.m., and sunset falling at 6:48 p.m. on March 13.

Hawaii and most of Arizona don't observe daylight saving time, having opted out of the Uniform Time Act of 1966, which mandated daylight saving time.

Daylight saving time ends this year on Sunday, Nov. 6, when clocks will "fall back" an hour.
