ID Released Of NH Bicyclist Who Died After Group Ride: Reports
Bob Kennedy, was "an accomplished ornithologist, bicyclist and marathon runner" who ran nearly 300 marathons, reports say.

NEWINGTON, NH — A 76-year-old Durham man is dead after falling and sustaining a serious head injury while on a group "Bikes and Bears" ride for charity in Newington Saturday morning, according to multiple reports.
The man, Bob Kennedy, was "an accomplished ornithologist, bicyclist and marathon runner" who ran nearly 300 marathons and completed the Boston marathon several times, most recently this April, according to Seacoastonline.
Kennedy's fall Saturday occurred as he was riding down a hill on Little Bay Road, the outlet continued, citing Newington Police Chief Michael Bilodeau. Other riders and spectators gathered to help him while rescuers rushed to the scene.

He died at the hospital later in the day, WMUR reported.
"We’re not fully sure what the cause of the accident was, whether it was road conditions, his age, or whether there were other bicyclists abreast with him," Bilodeau said, according to Seacoastonline. "We’re still trying to figure all that out."

The sixth annual Bikes & Beers Portsmouth event featured a 15, 30, and 45-mile ride departing from Cisco Brewers and traveling through the Portsmouth area before returning to Cisco for a celebration with craft beers. It benefitted the Bike Alliance of NH to help improve New Hampshire cycling conditions.
